10 March:

MARDI GRAS SPECIAL!
The Blues Kitchen
Camden Town
NW1
This week it's Mardi Gras in New Orleans! And worry not that we are 5000 miles away from the Crescent City because we are doing our best to bring the festivities to London with the Roll & Tumble Mardi Gras special...
The DJ's will be spinning N'awlins Rhythm & Blues, Soul and Jazz whilst we have two tailor made live acts to bring some real Louisiana seasoning to the proceedings:
DOM & THE IKO'S - Piano led New Orleans R&B and Soul played in the traditional greasy, down home manner...
THE BRASS VOLCANOES - Authentic N'awlins style Marching Band taking to the floor of the venue to play Mardi Gras and Crescent City Anthems!
The live music kicks off around 11...
9pm-2am
Free entry before 10, £3 after
****Dolly says: "The Blues Kitchen is a great soul venue....just don't go expecting proper soul food like your mamaw used to make and you won't be disappointed....at least they've finally added fried chicken to the menu. I'm such a southern food snob, really. Perhaps I should one day do a southern/soul food post???"

11 March:

Double Shot O' Soul
The Drop
below The Three Crowns
175 Stoke Newington High Street
N16 0LH
Get your soul kicks from the stage and from the 45s! At the new venue, new format Double Shot O’ Soul there is live music from AUNT NELLY (http://www.myspace.com/auntnelly2), celebrating the release of their debut single 'Never Gonna Sleep At Night' (Rowed Out Records). Support comes from hotly tipped Northampton five-piece THE FRANCIS JETTY (http://www.myspace.com/francisjettymusic).
This is followed by DJs Smart Phil & Mickee spinning the best music ever made: think Tamla Motown, Stax, Atlantic, northern & club soul and more to keep you dancing all night long.
9pm-4am
£5 entry
****Dolly says: "Love it."

12 March:

Ham Yardies Springtime Special
The Britannia
Monument Street
EC3R 8AJ
